Paterson's curse


noun a biennial herb, Echium plantagineum, native to the Mediterranean area, but widely naturalised in settled parts of Australia, having blue-purple flowers. Compare Lachlan lilac, Murrumbidgee sweet pea, Riverina bluebell, Salvation Jane.
